An AAUP member had an urgent need to expedite their refund based upon home improvement projects about to begin. Unable to wait to visit the Portland IRS office in 3-5 weeks, the member made an appointment to verify his identity at the Salem office. He got an appointment for the next day, took off a day of work and drove to Salem.
The University advised that they would consider a member's drive to the Salem IRS office to verify their identity as an emergency that warrant's reimbursement.
Members who seek this avenue should request reimbursement on the appropriate University form and send it to Phil Lesch . Phil will submit the requests through OAA.
