Bargaining and Workload Updates

July 10, 2020 / PSU-AAUP

PSU-AAUP is deeply concerned by the increased workload placed upon our members, even before the pandemic. Years of continuous cuts to programs and services, including reduced staff and GTAs has placed incredible strain on the remaining resources. The University’s motto seems to be “more with less.” The Union is working hard at the bargaining table to address these ever-increasing workload demands. The pandemic, remote work, and furloughs have created an even worse environment and increased workload burdens and limitations. Workload will be one of the first things we will be talking about at the bargaining table when we return in August.

With these and other important bargaining issues in mind: It is very impactful to have observers listening in on the Zoom calls and we've noticed a real difference in the tone and level of collaboration from the Administration’s Bargaining Team when PSU-AAUP members are in the room. We hope to see you there!
