Call for Nominations for the Special Election for the Remainder of the 2021-23 Office of Councilor At Large

October 08, 2021 / PSU-AAUP

A Councilor At Large elected in Spring 2021 was recently promoted to an Interim Director position and is no longer eligible to serve in a leadership capacity for PSU-AAUP. That Councilor At Large position is now vacant. As the remainder of the term is longer than one year, the PSU-AAUP Constitution requires the Executive Council to hold a special election to fill the position.

The newly elected Councilor At Large will fill out the remainder of the term expiring May 1, 2023.

You can nominate yourself, or speak to a friend that you want to nominate and nominate them.

The open nomination period runs from Monday October 11 until Friday October 15. The election will open Tuesday October 19 and close Wednesday November 5. The new Councilor At Large will assume the office on November 7, or as soon after that date that the oath of office can be administered.

The nomination should include a candidate statement (submitted either by the candidate or a supporting member) of no more than 150 words.

To submit a nomination, send an email to the Nominating Officer David Kinsella. You must be a member of the PSU-AAUP to nominate someone, or to be nominated. We will confirm everyone’s membership status and that each nominee is willing to participate.

Should you have any questions about the Association or the open position, you can contact any of the current executive council members, or Executive Director Phil Lesch, or David Kinsella

We look forward to hearing from you!

David Kinsella
