BARGAINING

Demand to Bargain submitted on new criteria for overloads

November 13, 2018 / Phil Lesch

It recently came to the attention of PSU-AAUP that the criteria for the awarding and payments of overloads to members had changed: specifically, that overloads would not be permitted if it was for more than 20% of the employee’s base salary, and that overloads that were previously allowed for “per student” field assignments would no longer be allowed. The payment of overloads is a mandatory subject of bargaining. On October 26, 2018 PSU-AAUP submitted a Demand to Bargain on the decision and the effects of the decision to create policies that condition and/or limit the payment of additional wages.

The PSU-AAUP negotiating team and the PSU administration negotiating teams meet on Fridays for two hours this term on interim bargaining issues, and we hope to be able to get to this matter soon.
