Fall Return? What’s Going On?

So...you just received an email from the University that there are plans in the works to return to campus for the fall term. We want you to know that PSU-AAUP has the health and safety of PSU staff and students as our top priority and will be working with the administration in implementing plans moving forward. 

Administration has assured PSU-AAUP that the reopening plan is tied to a belief that with widespread vaccination by the fall, COVID transmission should be lessened, allowing a safe return to in-person instruction. We will be working with Administration on behalf of PSU-membership to ensure that any return to campus reflects the needs and concerns of academic workers. We understand that we best serve our students when we are safe and healthy, and will continue to keep this at the forefront of our discussions.

We know you will have a lot of questions, concerns, and excitement about the possible return to campus. PSU-AAUP wants to ensure that we are addressing your needs to the best of our ability as we navigate this return. We will be hosting Zoom-ins in the near future to gather your questions and concerns, and will soon share with you a survey to get your input on this topic. Please look for the survey and dates for the Zoom-ins in the coming weeks. We are also happy to hear from you via email, or funnel your questions through your Unit Rep. As we continue to get more information we will compile an FAQ page, and have updates on our website and in our member news. 

As the fall term approaches we hope to have more clarity and certainty. We will continue to work with administration to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible.
