OPB higher education reporter Meerah Powell checked in with OPB Weekend Edition host John Notarianni to talk about the numerous difficulties facing universities in Oregon these days.

Allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct, or the handling of such accusations, have riled three separate universities in Oregon, from Corvallis to Portland to McMinnville.

A first-ever faculty strike at a public university in Oregon is threatening to upend life on campuses in Klamath Falls and Wilsonville.

At the same time, colleges all over the state are wrestling with how to bring students back to their residential campuses safely, with some requiring vaccinations as a global pandemic continues to hospitalize people and interfere with life as we know it.
