Meet David Kinsella

I’m David Kinsella, Professor of Political Science. I research and teach in the areas of national security policy, international law and organization, and war studies. I’ve been a loyal member of PSU-AAUP from the time I started at PSU 16+ years ago. During my time here, I’ve seen financial and other pressures on academic labor ebb and flow, but our union’s advocacy has been a constant, and something I have come to appreciate more and more with time. Even for tenured faculty -- who don’t confront the same insecurities as academic professionals and untenured and nontenure-line faculty -- I hate to think where our salaries, and possibly teaching loads, would be without PSU-AAUP. I’m now trying to pay it forward as a Union Rep.
