Bargaining Update June 16, 2014

We made significant progress today in interim bargaining over salaries for the new non-tenure track faculty/researcher ranks.  PSU administration accepted our proposed salary minimums (see here for 2014 salary figures) and outlined the procedures they will follow as faculty re-rank into the newly adopted titles.  We still have some small but significant disagreements with the PSU administration’s proposed re-ranking procedures language.  Their current proposal contains no appeal process for faculty who disagree with their re-ranking, and the administration does not want the re-ranking language to become part of the contract, which would guarantee our grievance rights.

PSU AAUP will continue to fight for an agreement that is fair, equitable and recognizes members’ rights to due process.

No date has been scheduled yet for our next bargaining session; however, both parties understand that we need to get these issues resolved quickly.

We hope to come to an agreement soon!
