On March 1 we reported that we filed a grievance over the improper notice of termination given to a NTTF who has been (so far) denied in their application for continuous appointment. On January 3 they received notice that they would not be renewed and effectively terminated on June 15, 2017.
The Dean agreed with the Association at Step One that the faculty member was due one year notice of termination after their application for continuous appointment had been denied at the final level of determination. The notice of termination was rescinded.
The faculty member is appealing the department's decision to deny continuous appointment through the request for reconsideration process.
