PSU has a bright future ahead, but we need to act to secure it.

PSU has a bright future. By working together, we can create a healthy, stable university community that is supportive of students, faculty and staff. Doing so will require leadership beyond that which the current Administration has demonstrated. A bright future for PSU requires investing in a significant expansion of positions in key areas such as Human Resources, Financial Aid, the CARE Team, and Academic and Career Advising. It will require actions that will reverse the outward flow of faculty and staff and increase student recruitment and retention.

In 2023, let's make PSU a great place for students to learn and faculty, staff and Academic Professionals to work. You can do your part by signing a petition asking the Board of Trustees to seat new leadership who will put the focus back on our mission.

What we mean when we talk about a bright future for PSU:

OUR STUDENTS ARE THE FUTURE!
PSU’s mission is crucial to the future financial and social well-being of this area. Our students are 50% BIPOC and nearly 50% are first-generation – the first in their families to attend college. We need to provide them with support, care, and a great education.

PSU ADMIN ARE NOT VICTIMS, THEY’RE MAKING POOR CHOICES
PSU Administration is making poor choices. They need to make better choices about how they’re spending the money we DO have. The University’s own outside, third-party analyst called out the primary underlying causes of many of our problems last year: administrative bloat, poor internal communication internal and fragmentation among upper leadership.

IT’S NOT THE PANDEMIC, IT’S MISMANAGEMENT
Poor management and a failure to invest in PSU students pre-dates the pandemic. The Administration needs to stop using the pandemic as an excuse. These are self-inflicted wounds that go to internal administrative dysfunction.

PSU IS NOT BROKE – THERE IS A BRIGHT FUTURE!
The good news is: internal problems can be fixed with internal actions. There is money available to invest in PSU’s students, programs, faculty and staff. We’re asking the Board of Trustees to hire a new president who will invest in students, faculty and staff to continue PSU’s proud tradition of serving this city and region. We believe the Trustees are concerned and are listening.
