PSU-AAUP represents over 1,200 instructional faculty and academic professionals employed by Portland State University. We strive to defend the rights of our bargaining unit through advocacy, collective bargaining, and grievance procedures, and are committed to protecting tenure, due process, and academic freedom for all PSU faculty. We are affiliated with the American Association of University Professors, the nation’s only organization that exclusively represents higher education faculty.

Legislative Endorsement of HB 2021 B

On June 14th PSU-AAUP Executive council voted to support HB 2021. HB 2021 would require electricity providers to move away from fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse emissions associated with OR electricity use. It would support and implement research being done by AAUP OR members across the state. It is also in line with AAUP OR principles around the creation of a sustainable higher education system.

SB 551-- the part-time faculty health care bill--passed thanks, in part, to the advocacy provided by PSU-AAUP members. It is currently awaiting signature from Governor Kate Brown.
