Professor Apologizes After Suggesting That Students Block Fox News on Families’ TVs

An assistant professor at North Carolina State University has apologized for distributing fliers ahead of the midterm elections that suggested students block Fox News on their families’ televisions, WRAL, a local TV station, reported.

The fliers, titled “Things You Can Do (Now or in the Near Future) — a Somewhat Cynical List,” were handed out to students by Michaela DeSoucey, an assistant professor of sociology. The list of suggestions was posted on social media and caused a campuswide debate. A conservative website, Campus Reform, drew attention to the fliers last week.
